Korean jewellers embark upon novel projectMonday, 2nd July 2007 (3263 views) Jung Hye-ja and Kim Hue-kyeong have jointly embarked upon a project, it has been revealed.The two jewellers from South Korea of jewellery shop In Story have transformed Korean sculptor Moonshin's works into gold jewellery pieces, the Korea Times reports. A selection of brooches, earrings, necklaces and rings have been designed as part of the Moonshin project which also ties in with the theme of opera, the newspaper reports. "The shape of the sculptures just look like they were destined to be made into jewellery,'' Ms Hye-ja told the newspaper. She added: "Jewellery is about fantasy. Without it, jewels are just stones from nature." According to the Korea Times, Ms Hye-ja has expertise in classical music and has named a number of pieces of jewellery after popular opera arias. The newspaper reveals that a necklace of diamonds and white gold is named after the queen of the night's aria' from Mozart's The Magic Flute.
