Customised jewellery retailer PicturesOnGold is launching a free contest entitled America's Cutest Kid, the winner of which will receive an engraved 14-carat gold photo-pendant.

Entrants can upload their digital photos to the company's website where voting will be done by visitors to the website, friends and families, PicturesOnGold claims.

Pictures can include funny, clumsy, messy, or more traditional model poses and the winning child will have their picture laser engraved on a 14-carat gold pendant, which is valued at $269.99 (£135).

"We wanted to do something special for all the parents out there and at the same time give people a fun way to vote online," commented Daniel Schifter, owner of PicturesOnGold.

"I have seen everything from a mother wanting to show off their newborn child, to a friend wanting to memorialise a lost one with a laser-engraved silver locket," he added.

The contest runs from June 21st to July 21st, during which time visitors to PicturesOnGold can vote on a scale of one to five stars.
