A partnership has been formed by gold exploration company AngloGold Ashanti, Middle Eastern retailer Al Zahra Jewellery and the World Gold Council (WGC) in order to enter into a gold jewellery marketing project.

The trio are set to promote a range of 18 carat gold jewellery which they say will focus on product quality and progressive design.

Furthermore, the organisations believe that their alliance will have a positive impact upon gold jewellery consumption trends while introducing original Italian designs into the sector.

"Our goal is to enhance and promote the purchasing of gold including 18 carat Italian ornaments, which is recognized for its unique style and its great quality," commented Faiz Papadopoulos, owner of Al Zahra Jewellery.

While Rian Raghavjee, manager of projects at AGA, stated: "We are excited by this collaborative marketing project and look forward to having it contribute positively to the gold category in the [Middle Eastern] region."

Moaz Barakat, managing director for WGC in the Middle East, Turkey and Pakistan added that the move was part of the Council's commitment to promote gold in the region.

Al Zahra Jewellery will be importing and selling 18 carat gold jewellery and believes that the marketing project will aid the consumption of gold in the United Arab Emirates and throughout the Middle East.
