Actor Brad Pitt has sent his partner Angelina Jolie a golden token of his affection, it has been revealed.

According to AFP, the Hollywood heartthrob gave actress Jolie an 18-carat gold love letter pendant which was created by Paris master engraver Cassegrain.

The jewellery cost approximately €1,500 (£1,017) according to the news agency and Pitt reportedly presented the item to his lover sometime before the Cannes film festival which took place in May.

Inside the gold pendant is a minute golden card featuring the words "I find you in the morning sky, in the sound of children's laughter, in the motion of every stirring wind" and concluding "I love you, Brad", AFP reports.

Furthermore, the locket is said to include a portrait of Pax Thien, the latest member of the Jolie-Pitt brood.

Jolie recently wore waterfall diamond earrings at the Cannes film festival this year, with Caroline Deby of De Beers telling Diamond World that the preferred choice for the event had been white diamonds set in white gold.
