Tuesday, 17th April 2007 (5499 views) A sheriff's office in the US has announced plans to auction off ten gold coins.The coins, which are each worth $20 (£10), were seized by the Jefferson County sheriff's department in Colorado as part of a settlement order. Members of the public will be able to bid for the coins in a silent auction. Anyone interested in taking part is able to view them while they are on show at the sheriff's office from today. "Interested parties are requested to submit sealed bids to Sergeant Richard Webb by 5pm on Friday April 27th," the sheriff's office said in a statement. "The coins will be sold individually to the highest bidder." The "Walking Liberty" gold coins include eight MS-64 grade 1924 pieces, one MS-65 grade 1924 piece and one MS-64 grade 1927 piece.
