The Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group has held its annual party in order to honour some of the 700 members of the emirate's jewellery businesses.

The trade body runs a Customer Choice Award programme which rewards retailers, from chain outlets to single shops, who have pleased their customers over the last year.

Throughout the evening KP Baiju announced this year's winners, with Damas Jewellery taking home the Customer Choice Award, ARY Jewellery receiving the Service Excellence prize and SKY Jewellery and Al Kanz Jewellery also being praised.

Mr Baiju, who is the general manger of the Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group, said: "Our annual party is the star event on our social calendar.

"Apart from the excitement and fun, it is also a great networking opportunity for our members."

He said that this year's gala evening had the added attraction of honouring winners of the customer choice award programme which is chosen directly by the public so it recognises true excellence from the customer's point of view.
