Jewel 2007 sparkles in IndiaThursday, 11th January 2007 (3814 views) A major exhibition in India is set to showcase the stunning gold collections of some of the country's jewellers.Jewel 2007, organised by the Gems & Jewellery Trade Council of India (GJTC), is being held at the Rajpath club, Ahmedabad and is expected to attract a number of visitors keen to discover the delights of the region's jewellery, reports Fibre2fashion.com. Around 4,000 people are forecasted to visit the event over a four-day period, with many travelling from China, Israel, UK and Singapore. Over 30 leading jewellers are taking part in the event and will be displaying a wide range of items ranging from the traditional Indian-style to more contemporary prices as well as gold items with a number of gems and diamonds set-in to them. It is hoped the exhibition will boost trade for the Indian state of Gujarat, which already accounts for 80 per cent of the country's experts, according to Shantilal Patel, president of the GJTC.
