The inaugural Emirates Millionaire Show was opened today by H.H. Sheikh Suroor Bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, the chamberlain of the presidential court, and is featuring many luxury brands incorporating gold jewellery and mobile phones.

Held at the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi, the event features, among many other things, a luxury mobile phone called GoldVish that is fashioned from 18-carat gold, is adorned with diamonds and is a limited edition piece.

Aimed at showcasing the top end of the market goods, the three-day Emirates Millionaire Show also displays for the first time, the Lamborghini Gallardo and the Murchielago LP640.

Bahare Majd, the managing director of Divine Events, said: "The moment has come for everyone to take an up close and personal look at the latest luxury lines by the world's most exclusive super brands."

Dubai city guide reports Mr Majd as stating that the event is primarily designed to push forward the concept that the emirate is the home of luxury goods.

The show's programme for December 14th is filled with fashion shows, entertainment and jewellery exhibitions and ends with a gala dinner.
