White gold is more traditionally seen on jewellery and watches, but now it is entering the Guinness World Record Books.

The world's most expensive mobile phone has been created using 18-carat white gold and is worth $1.2 million.

Designed by Emmanuel Guiet as part of his Illusion Collection, the phone is strictly limited edition and made to order upon special requests.

It has been exhibited by the manufacturer, GoldVish, at Millionaire's Fair in Cannes.

Michel Morren, chief executive officer of GoldVish, said: " The introduction of the GoldVish luxury cell phone collection in Europe in Cannes was a great success. I am excited with the worldwide reception and look forward to attending the Millionaire's Fair in Moscow."

A Russian businessman has reportedly ordered one for his wife after seeing the Le Million Piece Unique, as it is formally known.

The phone is also decorated with 120 carats of grade one diamonds.

Last year 21,000 people visited the Moscow Millionaire Fair so organisers are confident that perhaps another white gold, super-expensive phone will be bought.
