With the Muslim festival of Ramadan just around the corner, a leading international jeweller has launched a brand new collection of yellow and white gold jewellery especially for the occasion.

Damas is offering a stunning array of handcrafted 21-carat gold items inspired by Bahraini designs and craftsmanship.

The collection will feature large and chunky earrings, necklaces, rings and bracelets, as well as delicate items featuring precious stones in blue and red set in gold.

Ramadan is a busy time for jewellers across the world, particularly in Muslim countries, and the recent fall in gold prices means sales are expected to be much higher this year than they were in 2005.

Sales of gold in Dubai this Ramadan are expected to increase by up to 20 per cent on last year, according to Emirates Today.
