Hollywood starlet Lindsey Lohan has created a stir by flashing a diamond-and-white-gold ring on her wedding finger at a recent public appearance.

Lohan, present at the recent Venice Film Festival, emerged in front of the waiting crowds sporting the expensive-looking piece as she did her turn on the red carpet.

The "Herbie" star was in town to make an appearance at the premiere of the film "Bobby" – a movie based on the true story of the assassination of former US Senator Robert Kennedy in 1968.

It is believed the ring Lohan wore was a gift from boyfriend Harry Morton, whose father Peter founded the Hard Rock Café chain, given to her on the pair's recent trip to Hawaii.

Lohan evaded questions from the press on the subject, having worn the same ring on her middle finger at an earlier commitment, but stayed to sign autographs for fans.
