One of India's largest gold jewellery retailers and stockists, Gitanjali Gems, has announced the opening of a new showroom in Ahmedabad, GujaratGlobal.com reports.

The Gitanjali Exclusive store will stock the full-range of Gitanjali products in the Desire range, from gold-plated watches to enamelled Disney-themed products in gold and silver, and will be the city's first multi-brand jewellery showroom.

The store was set to be opened by Lara Dutta, the former Miss India and brand ambassador for D'damas, another prominent name in the gold jewellery sector.

In addition to D'damas products, the Gitanjali showroom will feature several other jewellery lines, for both men and women, including pieces from other acclaimed designers such as Asmi, Sangini, and Gili.

Gitanjali is reportedly looking to open more luxury lifestyle stores in the region and is hoping to pioneer a move towards a revolutionary new way of marketing jewellery across India.
