The winner of the latest giveaway competition from the Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group (DGJG) has won a one kilogram bar of gold bullion.

The raffle, which was organised in conjunction with the DGJG's Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) campaign, was won by a resident of Buraimi in the United Arab Emirates named Jim Joseph who entered the competition while in Dubai to purchase some gold jewellery.

"I still cannot believe that I won a one kilogram gold bar, it is beyond my expectations," he told the Trade Arabia News Service.

"When I was informed of the prize, I thought my friends were playing a prank on me. This is the first time I have taken part in a raffle draw and to win something like this is just amazing."

Members of the public who make gold jewellery purchases worth over 250 dirham at selected Dubai outlets, of which there are over 200, are automatically entered into the prize draws that are organised by the DSS.
