To celebrate the launch of its Ultimate Chalupa taco, American fast-food chain Taco Bell has put a $14,000 Ulti-"Mate" Chalupa ring up for auction on eBay.

Bidding for the ring starts at $10,000 and the auction is open for seven days. The proceeds will go to the Taco Bell Foundation, which provides funds to help at-risk teenagers.

The ring itself was unveiled in Las Vegas yesterday (June 13th) and is a white-gold band encrusted with a two-carat princess diamond. It comes with an American Gem Society certificate of quality.

Taco Bell described the auction as a "one-of-a-kind, love-inspired and 'outside the bun' combo for a pair of potential soul mates".

"You could say [the Ulti-'Mate' Chalupa taco] is a girl's best friend," Bill Pearce, chief marketing officer for Taco Bell, said.

The Taco Bell Foundation has raised more than $15 million over a ten-year period, supporting essential community programs for youth development, such as the Boys and Girls Clubs of America (BGCA).
