Dubai Pavilion wows trade fair visitorsMonday, 12th June 2006 (3699 views) The Dubai Pavilion, a vehicle formed by the Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group to promote Dubai's jewellery industry around the world, has reported record orders at the international trade fair JCK, which closed on June 7th.Five jewellers from Dubai exhibited at JCK in Las Vegas for the first time, with the Dubai Pavilion covering an area of 800 square feet. Over 35,000 visitors attended the five-day trade fair, and 300 US companies were said to have placed orders with members of the Dubai Pavilion. Tawhid Abdullah, managing director of the Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group, told news service AME Info that the response and networking opportunities resulting from the trade fair would encourage the group to double the size of the Dubai Pavilion for the next event in 2007. Mr Abdullah also reported positive discussions with a large e-commerce portal, ice.com, which could open possible business opportunities. The Dubai Pavilion will make another debut this month at the Hong Kong Watch & Jewellery Fair, which takes place from June 22nd 25th.
