Jeweller in line for top UK awardFriday, 26th May 2006 (4042 views) A Guildford jewellery designer is in line for top honours at the UK Jewellery Awards.Simon Pure is up for two leading gongs, Luxury Jeweller of the Year and Independent Retailer of the Year, at the awards which will be held in London this summer. The team behind the jeweller, which works primarily with gold and platinum, told the Surrey Advertiser they were delighted with the top-five shortlisting, adding it reaffirmed their aesthetic approach to jewellery. "We feel contemporary jewellery should be viewed as a work of art, loved with a passion and most importantly worn with ease," explained Alix Parsons. "To be considered one of the top five jewellers in the country is in itself a truly great honour and we cant wait to find out what will happen on the night." The firm is also celebrating its 20th anniversary this year after being founded by jeweller Kevin Roger and art graduate Steve Parsons.
