Fortunoff hosts Gold Expressions in NYC

The Gold Expressions 2006 Collection made its customary stop in the 'City That Never Sleeps' last week.

The Italian collection, which was inaugurated to stimulate demand for Italian designers and gold jewellery two years ago, has been a big success and is in the middle of its current world tour.

Previous locations for the show, which is sponsored by the World Gold Council (WGC), Vicenza Fair and AngloGold Ashanti, have included Dubai and Mumbai. Its current stop in New York City was presented by Bel-Oro International – the exclusive distributor for the collection in the United States.

Bel-Oro featured more than 800 items of gold jewellery from nearly 50 designers, with nine of the designer lines being launched at Fortunoff boutiques in New York bearing the Gold Expressions brand.

"The Gold Expressions branded showcases, together with the grouping of product in coordinated designer collections, creates a strong visual impact at point-of-sale," said John Calnon, the US managing director for WGC.

"[It combines] the American consumer's passion for Italy with her natural love of gold jewellery," he added.
