Brooke Shields and Katie Holmes appear to have similar tastes in a number of important matters, with online celebrity gossip pages The Scoop pointing out that this also extends to their gold designer jewellery.

And what jewellery. The significance of the Cartier Love bangle both women wear cannot make it into a neutral symbol.

The exclusive gold bracelet comes with a little screwdriver and is supposed to symbolise an everlasting bond. Someone special should put the bracelet on, tightening up a lock on the bracelet and keeping the key.

Tom Cruise apparently bought Katie Holmes her bracelet as a mother's day gift, a source told the Scoop.

"She was spotted wearing the bracelet at her first public appearance since the arrival of [daughter] Suri at the L.A. ‘Mission: Impossible 3’ premiere, the unidentified source said.

"Since then, it appears Katie hasn’t taken Tom’s token of love off her wrist."

Brooke Shields, who was on the end of a scathing on-air attack by Cruise and who gave birth in the same hospital and on the same day as Holmes, has not taken hers off either, though rumour has it, Shields was the first to have her bracelet fastened on.
