Custom-made gold rings part of 'dream wedding' prizeWednesday, 10th May 2006 (3720 views) An American "21st Century Couple" have won a wedding contest on the internet to design and organise their own dream Hawaiian wedding, courtesy of several sponsors of the competition. The Wedding Contest prize consists of a pair of 18-carat gold wedding bands for Jesse Kovarovic and Jackie Losik, a ceremony and five-night stay at Starwood Hawaii's Royal Hawaiian hotel and round trip flights on Hawaiian Airlines. "I was so excited when I saw the 21st Century Wedding Contest," Ms Losik said. "I really thought Jesse and I fit the description and I lobbied hard through all our friends and email contacts to get the votes. The deadline came and went with no news of their win and Ms Losik said they had given up hope until the phone call from The Wedding Contest. "We can't believe it, and can't wait to finally have the wedding of our dreams," she exclaimed. The competition was inaugurated to make people aware of how the internet can be used to make the massive organisation involved in creating a 'dream wedding' a lot easier. Research from the company that created the contest claims that more than 70 per cent of brides would choose the internet over their mothers to help organise their wedding day.
