The practice of body piercing has become more widely accepted and increasingly popular in recent years, boosting the range of gold jewellery on offer for consumers.

The array of body jewellery available is growing, with the number of materials expanding and more and more items in gold on sale, Daily India reports.

Gold is suitable for any healed piercing and can be used from around six months after the piercing has been done.

Atractive plain and gem-set gold pieces are now widely available for most areas of the body and face.

Ear piercing is now a relatively common practice in many countries, with more and more people also choosing to adorn belly buttons, noses, tongues, lips and eyebrows, and even in some cases necks, cleavages, collar bones and backs.

Consumers should check with their piercer about suitable types of jewellery, with some charming gold pieces available at a growing number of jewellery stores for all kinds of piercings.
