Via and Global Treasures a "success"Wednesday, 10th May 2006 (3508 views) US jewellery retailer Ross-Simons has recently launched two new catalogues aimed at middle-aged women with relatively high levels of disposable income, MultiChannel Merchant magazine reports. The two catalogues are called Via, which specialises in cutting-edge gold jewellery fashion accessories and Global Treasures, a catalogue of gifts and jewellery items from around the world. Via was mailed to over one million current and potential customers in the US, mostly women between the ages of 30 and 50 with an annual household income of $60,000. Despite this clientele being slightly younger and less affluent than the typical Ross-Simons customer, who earns between $120,000 and $150,000, the company reports the mailing as being a success. The gold and gemstone offerings are "chic, trendy, stylish, edgy and teetering on a little sexy", Ross-Simons has said, which has proven popular. Ross-Simons has also recently stopped producing two other jewellery-related publications, Gift Book Digest and Fashion Preview, and is preparing a second mailing of the catalogues this month.
