Retiring boss receives golden cornflakeThursday, 13th April 2006 (3864 views) A retiring Kellogg's boss received an intriguing leaving present in the form of a gold cornflake.Jewellery-maker Brucella Ridley created the gold flake from nine-carat gold and added a 22-carat breakfast plate, the Manchester Evening News reports. The life-size golden flake was framed and given to the retiring boss as a retirement gift. Ms Ridley has been designing jewellery in the upmarket Whalley Range district of Manchester, England for many years, but was surprised by this particular commission. "The Kellogg's people who commissioned it wanted it as large as possible, but they only sent me a variety pack to work from," she said. She bought a king-size box and picked out the biggest flake she could see, so that she had more to work from.
