DHL UAE, the official sponsors of the referees at the Masters Football Cup in Dubai are giving away five 18-carat footballs as part of a publicity campaign to raise the profile of the competition.

The unique sponsorship of officials at the tournament has raised eyebrows amongst football supporters and sponsorship-industry observers alike, yet with an audience of over 100 million in the Middle East and North Africa region (MENA), it is a potentially lucrative partnership.

The competition will be officiated by former English Premiership referees Steve Lodge and Jeff Winter, both of whom will wear yellow jerseys adorned with the DHL logo.

Mark Parsons, DHL UAE's marketing manager, said: "Our sponsorship of the Masters Football Cup Dubai and our new promotional campaign are a great opportunity to support the UAE's number one sport at the highest level.
