American rapper releases action figure with real gold

Friday, 7th April 2006 (4080 views)

US rap star Ghostface Killah is releasing 1,000 limited edition nine-inch vinyl figurines, featuring genuine 14-carat gold 'bling'.

The dolls are being designed and made by 4Cast, a producer of self-proclaimed 'urban collectors items' that "aim to capture the essence of worldwide urban culture".

Each figure comes with a real 14-carat gold chain, gold 'avenging eagle' accessory and a gold chalice with Swarovski crystals, all presented in a limited edition gold sealed box.

The doll will also recite original recordings of Ghostface Killah's catchphrases.

The rapper himself, real name Tony Starks, originally shot to fame as part of the influential 1990s rap group the Wu-Tang Clan, releasing his first debut album, Ironman, in 1996.

His solo career has followed in the successful footsteps of fellow Wu-Tang band member Raekwon, on whose 1995 release 'Only Built 4 Cuban Linx' Ghostface Killah appeared.

Another former Clan member, RZA, has since become a renowned producer of hip-hop and underground rap in the US and it was on RZA's record label Razor Sharp Records that Ghostface Killah released his first album, debuting at number two in the pop charts.
