College teams battle for Golden BootThursday, 6th April 2006 (3883 views) Arkansas and Louisiana State University (LSU) college football teams (the Razorbacks and Tigers respectively) will duke it out in the "Battle of the Golden Boot" in the autumn.The winners of the game, held at the War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock, Arkansas, will take home the prized Golden Boot a 24-carat gold statue in the shape of Arkansas and Louisiana states. The trophy weighs almost 200 pounds and was first introduced in 1996. The November 24th game will be the 11th time the two teams have battled it out to take home the prize. The clash between the Arkansas Razorbacks and the LSU Tigers promises to be an exciting one. It constitutes one of the most notorious rivalries in US college football and the winner of the game frequently goes on to represent the western division of the Southeastern Conference Football Championship Game.
