Leber introduce "Earthwise" jewelleryThursday, 6th April 2006 (3716 views) Jewellers Leber, based in Western Springs, Illinois, are seeing a rise in sales following the introduction of their new range of recycled gold products. The "Earthwise" range includes rings and pendants, which can be designed and made using recycled white or yellow gold or platinum, and have many options of gemstones that may be set into the metals. The collection of 18-carat gold items have few, if any, genuine differences to jewellery constructed from freshly mined gold and are proving a hit with Leber's customers. The pieces are fabricated from metal reclaimed in an environmentally sensitive manner and make use of palladium alloy rather than nickel. It has been found that some 25 per cent of people are allergic to nickel. The recycled gold is the latest innovation in the manufacture of jewellery and shows that even some of the older jewellers continue to push the boundaries and adjust to consumer demands. Despite being a small family business, Leber is in its 86th year of trading.
