Pittsburgh Priory to host jewellery show

Friday, 31st March 2006 (4055 views)

Artist Caesar Azzam has created a collection of gold and silver jewellery that will go on display at the Grand Hall of the Priory in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania this weekend.

The collection will be displayed in aid of the Pittsburgh Action Against Rape (PAAR) society during 'Muse Redressed', a fashion show taking place at the venue between 7 and 10.30pm.

Pieces of note include a silver brooch made of silver and encrusted with diamonds, as well as lapel pins, tie tacks and charms made with the customers' choice of 14-carat yellow, white or rose gold.

Each item is made up of the interwoven letters 'c', 'h' and 't', which stand for the themes of 'courage', 'healing' and 'trust' intended to run through the artist's collected works.

PAAR will display the jewellery and sell items priced between $145 and $600 created by Mr Azzam during the show.

The jewellery designer has worked alongside many others, mostly in California, and took time to develop his own style using silver, gold and platinum, as well as natural gems, before "Caesar's Designs" was established in Pittsburgh in 1998.

Tickets are priced at $70 for the gala event, and a portion of proceeds from the sale of the jewellery will go towards PAAR.
