Friday, 17th March 2006 (5705 views) Famous fashion designer and photographer, Karl Lagerfeld, has come up with a gold version of one his favourite luxury brands.'A Bottle Named Desire' is a limited edition gold studded Dom Perignon Vintage 1998, giving the champagne's classic signature shape a unique twist. The gold bottle will sell for 1,500, initially confined to retailer Colette until March 20th. It will then be rolled out to specialists in luxury lines worldwide. The bottles are all individually numbered and signed by Lagerfeld himself, while Classic Driver reports it is presented in a semi-opaque jewel case. Lagerfeld won his first fashion competition aged 14 in Paris and went on to be connected with top labels such as Chloe and Krizia throughout the 1960s. However, he is best known as the driving force behind Chanel's return to glory, joining the famous fashion house in 1983.
