Wednesday, 15th March 2006 (5412 views) Australia's top wool designer will be presented with a pair of unique gold-diamond earrings at this year's Australian Wool Fashion Awards, the Armidale Express reports.Crafted from 18 carats of white gold, Ceylon sapphires and two-thirds carat of diamonds, the earrings have been donated by up-and-coming local designer Richard J Andrews. Taking place in Armidale, New South Wales, the event aims to exhibit Australian Merino wool and innovation in its full glory. One lucky overall winner will claim the prize, which is worth AUS$4,000. This is the third year Mr Andrews, who specialises in remodelling jewellery and handmade rings, has donated glittering trinkets to the awards. Last year he gifted award organiser Liz Foster with a sparkling gold ring. Ms Foster told the paper that she was "delighted to have once again received such a beautiful prize for the awards".
