Watch giant beats own world recordMonday, 13th March 2006 (3585 views) Watch retailer Tourneau has broken its own record for having the world's biggest watch emporium.Guinness World Records was on hand to confirm that the timepiece titan's 17,000 square-foot Time Dome at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas is the world's biggest. Although most record-breakers have the added bonus of getting one up on a rival, Tourneau will have to settle for beating itself. It already held the same record with its four-level, 16,000-square foot store in New York, which was unveiled in 1998. The Las Vegas store opened in February last year. Tourneau, which was founded in 1900, operates a total of 22 stores in the US and the Caribbean and stocks some 100 brands and more than 8,000 styles. Obviously keen to claim its place in history in as many ways as it can, the retailer also boasts the world's largest collection of certified pre-owned watches and the biggest authorised independent service centre in the United States.
