Numbers up at Atlanta Jewellery ShowTuesday, 28th February 2006 (4121 views) Numbers were up at this year's Atlanta Jewellery Show, which finished yesterday (January 27).In what was described by event organisers as "the largest spring show ever held", the number of both jewellery vendors and retailers increased significantly on the previous year. Jewellers in the region use the event both to restock and survey the latest styles and trends. And despite it being a difficult year for the region weather-wise, 30 more vendors showed up than in 2005, with exhibitor booths swelling from 500 to 600. Attendee numbers were also on course to rise nine per cent year-on-year, according to executive director Carol Young. "We have a great response. The vendors keep coming back, year after year," she told the National Jeweller. Retailers at the show, organised by the Southeastern Jewellery Travellers Association, can also attend educational seminars designed to boost business.
