Tuesday, 28th February 2006 (4600 views)

The PC Chandra Sananda Dream Diamonds evening took place in Calcutta on Saturday, the Telegraph India reports.

The event, held at the Oberai Grand, featured a fashion show in which gold and diamond jewellery from PC Chandra took centre stage.

Things kicked off with the winners of the PC Chandra Sananda Dream Diamonds competition being congratulated. Almost 500 entrants took part, and winner Mayuri Devi from Guwahati walked away with a diamond set.

Runners-up Chandrima Datta and Arki Datta Chowdhury also received diamond prizes. The competition was judged by celebrities including designer Sharbari Datta and photographer Vivek Das.

The fashion show had a love theme, with models enacting the different stages of love – boy meets girl, love is in the air, dating and proposal, celebration and engagement.[Douglas Woodburn] sex?

The models wore beautiful brooches, pendants and chokers. A white gold diamond neckpiece was particularly striking.

PC Chandra is a leading Indian manufacturer of gold and diamond jewellery and exporter gemstones.
