Istanbul Jewellery Show to kick off next monthFriday, 24th February 2006 (4266 views) The Istanbul Jewellery Show will take place in March 2006, allowing firms to display wares including gold and diamond jewellery, precious stones, watches, clocks and more.The show, which is being organised by Rotaforte International, will run from March 22nd until March 26th at the CNR Expo Centre in the Turkish city. Rotaforte outlines multiple opportunities for jewellery businesses at the expo. Around ten million Turkish people are considered high income buyers, the company says, and many are interested in jewellery and high fashion. The firm also notes that the population is a young one, with 40 per cent of people under the age of 25, and young Turks like to follow trends. The country is the third largest manufacturer of jewellery in the world, and the biannual Istanbul Jewellery Show has been recognised as a marketplace of the world jewellery industry for 20 years. The show comes at a time when worldwide gold sales have reached a record level. Sales reached $53.6 billion last year, according to the World Gold Council. In terms of dollars, this represented double-digit growth in all demand categories jewellery, industrial and investment.
