Suited and booted - in goldMonday, 20th February 2006 (3700 views) Fashion-conscious businessmen are turning to a US retailer to fit them up with attire that will really turn heads in the boardroom.Custom-made suit retailer, the Tom James Company, offers to kit customers out in gold, the Charlotte Observer reports. Executives with their fingers on the pulse can order a suit featuring luxurious 22-carat gold-threaded pin stripes. Those really keen to make an impression can even get the tailor to design the pin stripes so it spells out their name or the name of their company. Tom James' suits start from $800 but those looking for the gold treatment and quality garments made from a blend of cashmere, mink and wool can expect to pay up to $12,000. Besides gold stitching, customers will also be offered a fitting at home or at the office. And for that price tag, clients will also receive a wardrobe consultation that should ensure they're in touch with the latest trends.
