Dubai-based jewellers Pure Gold has opened its first store in Oman.

The outlet is located in the city centre of Muscat, Oman's capital, and will offer local customers its usual selection of 18-, 21- and 22-carat gold jewellery.

Pure Gold carries an impressive line-up of Italian brands and is renowned for its 18-carat diamond earrings and pendants set in yellow and white gold.

It also stocks handcrafted glass jewellery embedded with 24-carat gold leaves from Murano.

But, according to Muscat city centre's general manager, Ibrahim Al Qasmi, customers may be chiefly tempted by Pure Gold's exclusive Dada Arrigoni collection.

"I am sure the contemporary designs at Pure Gold will appeal to the discerning customers of Oman," Mr Al Qasmi told the Times of Oman.

Pure Gold's move comes as several Indian jewellers eye up its home turf in Dubai.

Motisons – which specialises in weaving pearl and gold and high-class diamond jewellery – announced plans to enter the desert city with its first outlet in December.
