Stars shine at the Golden Globes

Wednesday, 18th January 2006 (4192 views)

The stars put their best bling on show for the prestigious Golden Globe award ceremony this week.

ITN reported that Jessica Alba had attended In Style magazine's award fashion preview to see which diamond jewels to wear to the celebrity gathering. The show included a ring wore by Charlize Theron when she picked up her Oscar for Monster.

While celebrities love to step out in free gear at ceremonies, designers too also need celebrities to wear their work to increase their profile.

But some try too hard. "There is really a process everyone says send your stuff to the celebrities but they get an onslaught with so much stuff that half the time they don't even open the boxes or they give it away to people," said Joe Paris of Inkslingers clothing.

Meanwhile, Golden Globe nominees Chalize Theron and Reese Witherspoon have been spotted wearing 18-carat gold pieces and thin bangles hand made and designed by Italian jeweller Ippolita Rostagno, NorthJersey.com reported.

A spokesperson for Rostagno said that "the trend now is mixing things and layering things, and her designs work well within that concept because all her gold is the same greenish colour".
