Golden goodies for Hollywood greats

Friday, 13th January 2006 (3909 views)

Details have emerged of some of the freebies that will be given to the presenters at the Golden Globe awards.

Interestingly, however, the gold necklace that may grace the stars' necks is actually the cheapest gift they may be given, costing a mere $250.

Adorned with two-faceted stones, the necklace is intended to be more spiritual than material, and features Citrine, which is known as the stone of happiness, according to the Asian Journal.

Other jewellery joining this "Zoe Oliver Fashion and Spiritual Jewellery" is a $2,000 diamond ring from Chopard.

There is also a Canadian diamond set in a pendant, and the possibility of winning a $5,000 Paul Hardy necklace in a prize draw.

Other gifts range from handbags and suits to a cruise of the Antarctica.

Stars lined up to present the awards include the pop diva Mariah Carey, the UK's Emma Thompson and Renee Zellweger, star of the Bridget Jones films.

The 63rd Annual Golden Globe Awards will air in 150 countries this coming Monday.
