$10,000 Louisiana jewellery drawThursday, 12th January 2006 (3942 views) Jewellery-lovers in North Louisiana are being offered a shot at winning some high-class jewellery at an upcoming fundraising event.The Gilbert & Sullivan Society of North Louisiana will hand out over $10,000 in jewellery prizes when its first ever raffle takes place next month, the Shreveport Times reports. All the jewellery on offer contains pearls, although some of the designs also incorporate precious metals and stones including gold. The lucky victor will receive a luxurious Mikimoto strand of pearls, worth a cool $8,650. The winner of the second prize will walk off with a 14-carat white gold necklace containing a teardrop pearl. They're bound to leave the raffle with a smile on their face as the necklace made by Stephen Miller Fine Jewellery - comes with matching earrings. Third prize winners will be able to impress their friends with snazzy freshwater-cultured pearl jewellery. The draw will be held on February 12, with tickets costing $20. The organisation is putting on the raffle to help fund its exploits on the stage, including its upcoming production of Princess Ida.
