Next year's Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) looks set to be a bumper one with an estimated prize pool of Dh100 million.

The Dubai City of Gold will be offering a Dh13 million gold promotion with its gold jewellery and coin promotions, which will see 143kg gold and 16 carats of solitaire diamonds being given away, reports the Times of Oman.

There will also be several car promotions including the Lexus Mega Raffle in which one winner in 5,000 will each day win two vehicles and a cash prize.

First starting in 1996, the festival has evolved into both a retail and tourist event that attracted 3.3 million consumers in 2005.

Shoppers may wish to browse the Night Souk, where they can pick up jewellery and watches, or visit the Global Village for culture and handicrafts.

The month-long festival will commence with a display of fireworks on January 4th before over 2,000 retailers offer their services to shoppers.
