Friday, 25th November 2005 (3847 views)

Those eager to win a diamond ring set in white and yellow gold can enter a raffle held in Houlton, Maine.

According to Bangor Daily News, the Houlton Regional Health Services Foundation's fifth annual Diamond Ring Raffle provides an opportunity for entrants to win a ring to impress any jewellery-lover.

Retailing for around $7,000, the one-carat solitaire diamond is in white gold and features a yellow gold bar.

Second prize is a 14-carat gold pendant embellished with two amethysts and one pink tourmaline, while third prize are pink tourmaline earrings.

Although the raffle is about to start, it will not be drawn until Valentines Day.

Those wishing to treat a loved one to some special gold jewellery for Christmas can take advantage of the many items for sale at jewellers around the globe.

With Ritz Fine Jewellery opening a store in London and Tiffany expanding into Asia, consumers will not be far from gold no matter where they shop.
