The 19th MidEast Watch and Jewellery Show kicked off in Dubai today (November 15th).

Attracting 225 exhibitors from 25 countries, the bi-annual show claims to be the "most successful" event of its kind in the region.

At the event's opening ceremony speakers emphasised the exhibition's ability to give an insight into future trends

"The 19th edition of the MidEast Watch and Jewellery Show is the region's first jewellery exhibition to display the 2005-06 autumn and winter collection," commented Fasahat Ali Khan, acting director general of Sharjah's Expo Centre - where the exhibition is set.

He added: "Jewellery connoisseurs will therefore be treating it as a 'must visit' event."

Visitors to the 10,800 Sqm venue have until November 19th to peruse a wide array of gold, diamond, pearl, silver and crystal jewellery. A selection of glittering timepieces are also on offer.

It's clearly a big draw for exhibitors. Some have flown in from as far away as Italy and Japan and up to 95 per cent return each time.
