Gold sets off exotic stones for MackintoshFriday, 11th November 2005 (3673 views) Mackintosh Jewellery Studios has unveiled its new autumn jewellery line.The jewellery items have a bold and colourful theme, using exotic stones such as Russian charoite, Polish jasper and Australian mookaite. Both sterling silver and 24-carat gold are used to bring out the colours and textures in the stones. Commenting on his decision to focus on unusual stones, jewellery artist Jim McIntosh said: "People never realise just how beautiful natural stone can be." Each piece of jewellery is hand-made and unique. Based near Memphis Tennessee, Mr Mackintosh developed his style after being inspired by jewellery that incoporated wirework.
