Police recover Elvis' gold medallionFriday, 11th November 2005 (3711 views) An Elvis impersonator has helped police recover a stolen gold medallion and other valuable memorabilia belonging to Elvis Presley. The loot - worth over $300,000 - went missing from the Elvis-A-Rama museum in Las Vegas in March 2004. But now the thief looks to be heading for a life behind bars. With a poise and aplomb The King would have been proud of, Elvis fan Duke Adams set a trap for the thief after he was randomly approached by a man offering to sell him jewellery belonging to the singer. Talking to the Las Vegas Review Journal, Mr Adams said he suddenly realised the items were from the Elvis-A-Rama museum: "The thought just clicked. Boom," he added. He then arranged to meet the alleged crook again and called the police. The man showed up at Mr Adams' office the next day, where the police caught him red-handed with all but one of the stolen items. The gold and black onyx medallion was worth a cool $88,340. Elvis' gold-plated Smith & Wesson .38 special and a 41-carat ruby and diamond ring were also recovered.
