Jewellery of the elite in New JerseyFriday, 28th October 2005 (4313 views) The Jewellery of the 20th century's most powerful people will be on display until December 31 at the Forbes Gallery.Titled 'Treasures of the Titans', the exhibition will showcase over 140 pieces of jewellery. Of particular interest will be a multi-tiered diamond necklace worn by the Maharajah of Patiala in the 1920s. There will also be the opulent cane of Adolph Ochs, a former owner of The New York Times, which has a 14-carat gold tip. President of the National Jewellery Institute, Judith Price, said: "We didn't restore any of the pieces. They came as the lender gave it to us. If the grandkid wanted a piece to be shiny, it's shiny. If they wanted it to show its age, it was their decision."
