Monday, 17th October 2005 (6379 views) Jewellery, costumes, crafts and food were all on display at a recent multi-cultural exhibit.Called "Ramadan Around the World", the display featured cultural exhibits of arts and crafts from Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Iran, Pakistan, India, Yemen, Sudan, Egypt, Tunisia, Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Jordan, Palestine, Senegal, Morocco and Turkey. Items such as the jewellery were for sale, but the food was given out for free as part of the Ramadan celebration. Gold jewellery was abundant at the Pakistani stall, along with henna hand drawing. The Indian stall also featured numerous displays of the country's culture through its jewellery. Farha Sayeed, wife of the Indian consul general in Jeddah, said: "We were overwhelmed by the response of the visitors. This was a good opportunity for us to promote India's art, culture and cuisine to the Arab world."
