Friday, 14th October 2005 (3950 views)

LJ International (LJI) has been awarded a top accolade in Hong Kong's international design competition.

The seventh Buyers' Favourite Jewellery Design Competition 2005, organised by the Hong Kong Jewellery Manufacturers' Association, is designed to raise the profile of jewellery within Hong Kong and to encourage local designers.

Judging took place at the Hong Kong Jewellery and Watch Fair in September and LJI was awarded with both champion and first runner-up design prizes.

Nasdaq-listed LJI's diamond brooch scooped one award, with its 5.35 carats of diamonds set in white gold, reports Rapaport.

Also set in white gold, its fantasy earrings incorporating black onyx and diamonds won the other award.

Organisers the Hong Kong Jewellery Manufactures Association will be running another event, the 13th International Jewellery Manufacturers exhibition, in December.
