Wednesday, 12th October 2005 (8317 views) Turquoise has been a part of Native American culture for centuries and this November it will be on display at the Fernbank Museum of Natural History in Atlanta, Georgia.The exhibit, called "Totems to Turquoise: Native North American Jewellery Arts of the Northwest and Southwest", will feature more than 500 pieces of historic and contemporary Native American jewellery. Fernbank's curator, Bobbi Hohmann, said: "It provides a historical overview of the development of these crafts." Of the jewellery on display, there will be necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings. These will be made from gold, silver, coral and opal. Some of the jewellery will be for sale with prices ranging from $21 to $14,000. Tickets are $12 for general admission, $11 for seniors and $10 for children.
