As Navami wraps up and the grand finale Dashami festival approaches, gold is appearing in a number of designer's clothes.

In particular designer Sunipa Samadder is placing emphasis on gold in her saris.

She believes that this festival is an event when a Bengali woman wants to boast her femininity as much as she can.

She said: "I've given my models a red sari paired with a cream and gold corset, to be in rhythm with the ethnic Bengali colour story."

In addition the sari has been decorated with gold jewellery and several red and white bangles on one hand.

The face will have gold as well, as the eyes will have gold-copper eye shadow on the socket, extended in black and the blush will be highlighted in gold.
