India's weeklong seventh Festival of Gold will commence on October 9th.

The exhibition and retail event will provide gold lovers with a dazzling array of jewellery in a range of gold varieties; from traditional yellow gold, currently making a comeback, to popular white gold.

Craftspeople from all over India will gather together to show their finely honed collections of gold jewellery.

The union minister of commerce and industry, Kamal Nath, will launch the event, which is organised by the Minerals and Mines Trade Corporation (MMTC).

World gold prices have recently experienced a boom and experts have predicted that any reduction in prices will further augment what is expected to be a busy gold-buying time throughout India, ahead of the festival season.
