Jeweller creates pieces fit for a kingTuesday, 4th October 2005 (3868 views) The grandson of Malaysia's former ruler, Tuanku Abdul Rahman has been creating some inspiring jewellery pieces.In an interview with New Straits Times, Tunku Mizan Tunku Ma'amor spoke about his new jewellery collection, describing it as "fun jewellery". It is the royal descendant's third foray into the jewellery business and one that he hopes will last. Showcased in his house, which serves as a gallery, is a line of jewellery incorporating gold wafer beads and silver settings whose pieces include necklaces and earrings. Mr Mizan describes himself as a "compulsive shopper" and revealed that he frequently travels to countries such as India, Afghanistan, Myanmar and Thailand in search of semi-precious stones. "I love beautiful things – and I love jewels," he told the New Straits Times. Mr Mizan's grandfather was made the first elected paramount ruler of independent Malaysia, or Yang di-Pertuan Agong, on August 31st 1957.
